Coronavirus Cases on the Rise: 830 New Cases Reported in Dallas County
As of 6 August, there are reports of at least 830 new coronavirus cases reported in Dallas County, and there are only 25 ICU beds available. The overall reported cases across Tarrant and Dallas counties are more than 600,000; sadly, the death toll reported is 4224. In Tarrant County, reportedly there are as many as 929 new cases. These numbers justify pushing for reporting it as a pandemic and requiring the government to take necessary measures.
As the delta virus variant affects an increasing number of people, the County Judge – Clay Jenkins insisted that residents do three things:
1 – Getting vaccinated
2 – Wearing masks in public areas or when outside the home
for any reason i.e. maintain SOPs and social distancing
3 – Persuade others to get the vaccination
He said, “The enemy in the battle against COVID is the virus
itself and not each other.”
On a daily basis, in the past two weeks, the number has been
766. In the fourteen days before the last two weeks, the numbers were an
average of 304. According to reports from the county, 537 people have been
hospitalized due to the virus. By last Friday, according to Jenkins, there were
only 25 beds available in the ICU.
Vaccinations Update
Reports say that in Dallas County the number of people who
got at least one dose of the vaccination is 1,376,234. So far, 52.8% (or
1,152,768) are fully vaccinated; of these are older people and those aged 12.

highest numbers since February.
