Heim Closed Due to Fire and Water Damage

After the most unpleasant incident, Heim BBQ will remain closed. The fire was caused by the wrong AC wiring. The year was quite tough. As this location causes many other problems like in Jan 2021 the transformer got stuck due to lightening, later in Feb in cold the pipes got frozen and burst. Later they got robbed and lost the whole safe that had tips and cash. Now there's a fire in an AC exhaust, followed by water damage. Within a week of losing a coveted position on Texas Monthly's Top 50 Barbecue List this year, this is a welcome change.

History

Cooking has been the big thing for the Heim family. Travis, the owner, used to help his parents in the kitchen from a very early age. He cooked his first brisket at the age of 13. It was terrible. BBQ turned into a passion after high school in Texas. We would have various meat clubs at our place, friends' residences, and even local restaurants after hours during the next year. The goal was to prepare the greatest BBQ possible utilizing local ingredients meats and products, to produce all our sides and pastries from scratch, to offer cold beer and live music in a lively and inviting environment.

Dallas Observer reported Travis and Emma saying:

Monday, November 8th, Heim Mockingbird will be closed, potentially until further notice. We'll keep you updated when additional information becomes available. Unfortunately, an AC vent in the dining room started smoking this evening, necessitating a call to the fire department. Fortunately, all our customers and employees are safe. Thank you for always being so supportive of our team and ourselves. You have no idea how much we appreciate you.

As soon as the place gets reopened it will be announced. Its page is active. Also, for now, they need extra love and support. If you are in the west, stop by Heim BBQ on the River at 5333 White Settlement Road or Heim at 1109 W. Magnolia in Fort Worth. The place serves delicious BBQ for years. They also provide catering services for parties and birthday celebrations. You can also purchase a gift card for your loved ones.

Owner Travis Heim recently informed NBC5 that they're planning on two different rooftop places in Burleson that would also open shortly, as well as another spot (in an undisclosed location), bringing their total number of locations to five.
