Parterre Has It All: Cocktail, Dinner and Lunch

If you're out of coffee beans for the day, head to, a new coffee shop/cocktail bar in downtown Dallas Parterre. A coffee veteran that has been around for a long time in Dallas.

Mike Mettendorf, who runs State Street Coffee in State Thomas and La Reunion in Bishop Arts, is the creator of Parterre. The two businesses have a lot in common in terms of personality and purpose.

There is a new café in downtown Dallas named “Parterre”. It has this huge WeWork logo on one side. This café will offer everything you want. From breakfast in the morning to small bites during the lunch hours and finishing the day with cocktails and a fantastic dinner. This place is a concept of the famous owner of State Street Coffee.

In French, parterre means "on the ground," but it's also the name of an ornamental French garden, according to a news release, and it was later used to describe "the standing room seen abreast historic theatre stages." According to a news release, the owner picked this name to honor the "old theatres that once lined Elm Street in downtown Dallas, as well as to promote their love of plants."

With a La Marzocco espresso machine, Parterre will serve a comprehensive menu of coffee and espresso. They blend standard beans roasted in-house and by Novel Coffee Roasters, a local partner.

With baristas with national championship pedigrees, the atmosphere will be "casual upmarket," and service workers will act more like concierges, available for tips beyond meal recommendations.

The press says:

Parterre smokes their own meats. The homemade bacon in the breakfast to delicious and fresh Salmon in lunch will make your day amazing. You can go to the place for nice evening entrees and elegant charcuterie.

Parterre will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends. It will be open from November 4-5 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the preview, and November 6 from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. with DJ Smoove.

Parterre will open with a limited slow-opening menu on November 8 at 1601 Elm St., #120, AKA the old Ascension Coffee on the ground floor of the Thanksgiving Tower building.

The place is beautiful for indoor dining. Once everything is set up we will have a deeper insight of the place.
